Brazilian Cosmetics Look for New Business in Dubai

The Brazilian cosmetics industry will make their third consecutive participation at the Beauty World Middle East, between today (22) and 24th of May, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre, in the United Arab Emirates. The increase of 48% in the sector’s exports to the Middle East in 2005 and the success obtained in the last two years at the fair motivated 15 Brazilian companies to go to the 11th edition of the event, which gathers about 750 exhibitors from 45 countries in the world.
‘One of the strongest sides of the national cosmetics industry in the Arab market is the segment of hair products, which represents 44% of the total exported to the region, followed by oral hygiene products and fragrances,’ remarked João Carlos da Silva, president of the Brazilian Association of Toiletries, Perfumes & Cosmetics Industries (Abihpec), which organises the companies’ participation in the event with support of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex).
The Brazilian pavilion, with 240 squared metres, is going to exhibit products from the companies �?gua de Cheiro, Amazon Secrets, Aroma do Campo, Bell Soft, Brazilian Feeling, Bonyplus, Cless Cosméticos, Condor, Kanechomn, L’Acqua di Fiori, Nunaat, Produtos Ideal, Sther, Suissa and Vitaderm.
In 2005 the contacts made by the Brazilian companies at the fair generated approximately US$ 10.8 million in the 12 following months, creating 93 new work opportunities for the sector.
