Egyptian importer wants to establish joint venture with Brazilian company
Biomedica Engineering, which imports and distributes medical and hospital equipment in Egypt, is seeking a supplier in Brazil who may be interested in establishing a future industrial partnership. Company director, Ahmed Mostafa Salem, is participating in business roundtables at the Hospitalar, the medical sector fair, in São Paulo.

State of Pará, in northern Brazil, grows as exporter to the Arab countries
The state’s revenues with exports to the Middle East and North Africa rose from US$ 13 million in the first five months of 2005 to US$ 73 million in the same period this year. The increase is the result of the local effort to diversify destinations for shipments.

Brazilian pulp sector invested US$ 12bn in a decade
In the last 15 years Brazilian paper and pulp exports tripled, going from US$ 1 billion in 1990 to US$ 3.4 billion in 2005. The information was released during ExpocelpaSul, a seminar and exhibit that ends today in the city of Curitiba.
