Entrepreneurs From The Middle East Do Business At Francal
Arab entrepreneurs closed deals at Francal, greatest shoes fair in Latin America, which ended last june 07th in São Paulo. 2 Lebanese importers, from the store King Street, placed an order for feminine and masculine shoes of the spring-summer collection by the brand Toni Salloum, of Franca, city in the state of São Paulo. ‘They already are our clients. Before the end of the year we should export 3,000 pairs to Lebanon,’ stated the exports director, George Filho (photo).
As well as the Lebanese, the Toni Salloum stand received importers from Syria. According to George, the company’s shoes are made for high-end Brazilian brands, like Daslu, VR Men’s Wear, Crawford and Brooksfield. Currently, Toni Salloum exports to 43 countries, amongst them Lebanon, United States, Canada, France, Japan and Cyprus. ‘We started sales to Lebanon 2 years ago, but we wish to expand exports to other Arab markets,’ said George.
According to him, the company’s next step is to participate at Motexha, trade fair held in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. We want to show at the fair that we produce excellent quality shoes, which can be compared to European shoes,’ said George. Toni Salloum produces 1,500 pairs of shoes per day, of which 65% are for exports. The factory, which was founded more than 40 years ago, employs 230 workers.
Another detail at Toni Salloum that can contribute to the expansion of the Arab market is that George is the son of Syrians and speaks Arabic. ‘This brings us closer to the market, because when an Arab meets with an another Arab he feels more confident,’ explained him. Read more.
