Camp CEO For Kids

Teresa Ciulla:
Summer camp can do more for your kids than simply get them out of the house: If they attend Camp CEO in Roswell, Georgia, they’ll start their own businesses, too. Scott Shickler, founder and CEO of Nirvana Café and Grille, also in Roswell, has created a unique summer camp that teaches kids how to open and operate their own businesses based on their hobbies and interests.
The 1st session ran this summer from June 5 through June 9 and was attended by 14 12- and 13-year-olds, who left with personalized business cards and new businesses to operate. Shickler even provided venture capital grants of $100, $50 and $25 respectively to the kids with the top 3 business plans. The next camp runs from July 17 through July 21. Nice to see this entrepreneur’s love of business getting passed to a new generation of business owners.
