The Harold:
One of Scotland’s richest men is helping to fund a new fashion school for pupils.
The £200,000-a-year project, partly funded by entrepreneur Sir Tom Hunter, will allow 50 pupils from schools in Glasgow to learn about the fashion industry. Those taking part will spend 1 day a week learning about the fashion business at Glasgow Caledonian University as well as working in city centre fashion outlets such as USC, d2, Office and Qube. Some 25 pupils have already signed up to the project, jointly run with the Scottish Executive and Glasgow City Council, and there are places for 25 more to enrol before the start of term later this month.
