Lfe Style Extra:
A third of Brits are hoping to be their own boss in 5 years as we get bored of the 9 to 5 trudge, research reveals.

A small business revolution is set to be driven by young workers, with almost half planning to run their own business, according to the survey. It also found those in pole position to succeed as entrepreneurs were divorced women, the youngest child in a family or people born under the star sign Virgo. The poll also revealed you were likely to succeed if you had… a good idea.

At the moment there are 3 million businesses, run by 12% of the UK working population - but this is set to more than triple to 10 million in 5 years, according to Vodafone, which carried out the poll of 1,933 UK adults. It would mean a third of the working population working for themselves by 2011.

6% of Brits are currently setting up their start-up and a third are seriously considering it, the survey found. Results also showed more women than men are planning on starting a business than men.

They revealed someone is most likely to become a business success if they are starting a family, put down to mums and dads looking for more flexible working hours as well as a business they can hand down to their children. Carry on reading!
