Victoria News:
Your neighbourhood is ablaze with colour. Marshmallow Santas and wire-frame reindeer decorate front lawns everywhere. Icicle lights drip from every eavestrough and endless strings of cars parade down your street to admire your neighbours’ creative handi-work.
All the while, your home still looks as exciting as it did last March 23. So the question arises, ‘What to do with that tangled ball of Christmas lights in your downstairs closet?’ Well, there is a fellow in town who can help you with your problem.
Kevin Smith (photo) has been transforming homes into Christmas wonderlands for 2 years. Whether he uses his own design or relies on his clients’ preferences, Smith will gussy up your homestead eliminating one more job from your Christmas to-do list. And while he does charge for the service, he mostly does it for fun.
‘I love Christmas and I enjoy making people happy,’ he admitted. He charges $25 per hour - simple displays usually take about an hour to set up. His $75 package includes dismantling the display after the holidays. ‘Generally, I use the homeowner’s lights, but I’ll purchase extra strings if necessary and add those costs to my bill.’
