University Of Mary Entrepreneur Fair

KFYR-TV:
If you can make business connections before you graduate, it’s usually easier to get that 1st job. University_Mary.jpgThe University of Mary held an Entrepreneurship fair on Wednesday, where students could market and sell a product to a panel of judges. It gives students a chance to prepare for the real world and connect with successful business people.

‘By having interaction with very successful entrepreneurs, owners and presidents of companies on the panel, they are getting an education far beyond what you are going to learn in school because it’s an education that comes from gray hair and experience,’ said Dewey Tietz, Co-Founder of the fair.

This is the 4th year for one particular biz student. He’s had multiple entries and even has his own biz. He says this year’s project has taught him a lot about the importance of teamwork.

‘The draw is the experience of meeting the business leaders, having that opportunity to net work with others in the community and getting some real person feedback as to how they feel about your business plan, the feedback that can help you advance in your career development,’ said Chaz Hager, a Business Administration Major.

After the presentation, students are encouraged to try and sell to a real marketing firm.

My name is Barbara Rogers, author of How to Make Boxes of Cash with Self-Storage Auctions. I believe that if a prisoner has a belief in themselves as well as a direction to go, he/she will be more likely NOT to be a repeat offender. I decided to create a book to assist anyone who is interested in running a flexible, profitable self-storage auction business out of their home.

I felt it was important to share this valuable information with prisoners, and to become the resource for those who need help getting it started. My book is a short read and provides step by step instructions for anyone to follow to become a successful business owner running a self-storage auction business.
