Loan Company Helps Immigrants Start Their Own Businesses

Business Opportunities:
A Boise Idaho loan company is helping out new immigrants interested in opening up businesses in the Gem State.
Micro Loan clients often don’t have much of a credit history and thus encounter problems when seeking traditional funds. The company’s loans range from 500 to 15,000 dollars.
The Director of Micro Enterprise Training & Assistance Loans says they have more than 100 successful clients across the Treasure Valley, and in Twin Falls.
‘We have a really good loan repayment rate. Immigrants in general just like you’re ancestors or mine came here with a lot of hard work ethic and they’ve really put their nose to the grindstone to make and extra effort to make sure those loan payments are made,’ says Ron Berning, the Program Director.
The company was created with a grant from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services. Since then they’ve branched out to help other minorities.
