Let’s be honest: Whether you’re trolling for perspective dates at bars or on your laptop screen, what grabs you first? It’s not whether they love walks on the beach or cuddling by a roaring fire. It’s how hot the person looks.
Most of us, remembering childhood adages like ‘beauty’s only skin deep’ that chided us for liking folks only for their looks, like to think we’re more evolved than that. But a just-launched national dating Web site, HotEnough.org, flips that notion on its well-formed ear.
New Jersey-based CEO and founder Jason Pellegrino figured he’d just skip being politically correct and call his Web site what it is: one ‘designed solely for those with above-average looks.’
Well! No matter what you think of the concept, you’ve gotta admit the guy’s got nerve. ‘This is the site for the hotties. If you’re a very attractive, fit guy, chances are you’re going to go out with an attractive, fit girl,’ says Pellegrino, 32, also a vice president in property management marketing and sales.
Here’s how HotEnough works: Potential members submit 3 photos, including a full-body shot. If Pellegrino and his silent business partner deem the person ‘hot enough,’ they are moved into the voting arena where the 150 current members check them out. In order to win membership, a prospective hottie needs to be rated at least an ‘8′ on the Hot-O-Meter scale of 10 by at least 25 people.
