IndyStar.com:
The Hendricks County Economic Development Partnership will offer local entrepreneurs a chance to turn their innovative business ideas into $10,000.

The partnership will make the cash prize available through its first Business Plan Challenge. The hope is to recognize and promote local entrepreneurship.

‘There are a lot of people with good ideas that can expand and grow and have a significant impact on our economy,’ said Harold Gutzwiller, director of the partnership. ‘We felt this was so important that we have spent about a year trying to find a way to highlight and encourage them.’

Anyone 18 or older who has operated a company for less than two years or plans to open a small business in Hendricks County can enter. Entries must focus on manufacturing, technology or motor sports or provide services to those fields.

A panel of judges will evaluate the plans. The winning project will represent the most promise based on financial feasibility, growth potential and prospects for implementation.

Participants must submit a one-page application form by April 2 and a business plan by 5 p.m. May 4. The winner will be announced June 25.

For more information, go online to www.hcedp.org or call (317) 745-2400.
