ABC12.com:
It might be January, but it’s not to early to start talking taxes. And help is available if you need it. H&R Block is offering free tax advice this week to people in Genesee County.

About 3 p.m. Thursday, advisors from H&R Block started offering advice to anyone who stops by the Courtland Center Mall to see them.

While you can’t get your taxes done there, it’s a chance for you to get educated during National Tax Advice Week. And while it’s a good way for H&R Block to attract new clients, it’s also a way for anyone who’s filing taxes this year to get professional help before their tax appointment.

Tax advisors say feel free to bring with you your W-2s or any other tax-related documents if you have them.

They also say they can answer most questions that people have, including what types of paperwork they’ll need to have for their tax appointment and what new tax laws will help them this year.

If you have questions for the experts, advisors will be at the Courtland Center Mall until 8 p.m. Thursday night and then again Friday from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
