An entrepreneur who suffered from debilitating back pain has developed a revolutionary lower back support product.
Angus Macnab, a science teacher at Giggleswick School, Settle suffered from lower back pain for more than ten years following footballing injuries. He started to work closely with a neoprene manufacturer to produce a uniquely shaped lower back support that can be worn comfortably underneath clothes all day.
The product is lightweight and works to produce deep muscle therapy and keep muscular tissue relaxed whatever the activity.
With support from Business Link York and North Yorkshire Mr Macnab launched his company VertiBaX, based in Skipton, which ships the product to customers across the UK.
Mr Macnab said: ‘My motivation for developing the product was brought about through total frustration with current products on the market. They made me sweat uncomfortably and could not be worn underneath clothes for long periods of time. They also provide only simple support and do not enhance the body’s natural healing process, something which is essential if you are to enjoy a long and active life.’
