A new entrepreneur is hoping to tap into Ann Arbor’s student market with a comics and games store set to open next month.
Alexander Horvath (photo), a former IT consultant, will transform the former Sake Bombs Depot on Packard into Get Your Game On. He will sell comics, new and used video games and tabletop games, including role-playing games and strategy board games. The shop will also carry card games, magic cards and miniature war games.
Among the comics, Horvath’s focus will be graphic novels, but he’s decided not to carry any Japanese anime since there is a special store for them in Ann Arbor, Wizzywig Collectibles.
‘I’m going to carry your Supermans and Batmans, and there are also some very good independent titles. I’d like to showcase them. I will also have some older works that have been bound,’ Horvath said.
Get Your Game On will open on March 7. ‘It’s a Wednesday, that’s the new comic day,’ Horvath said. Even though Horvath has a background in IT, he’s not going to sell online initially. ‘I will have a generic Web site and at some point I will sell online,’ he said. Read more.
