Oshkosh Northwestern:

Josh Taylor and Miguel Magana are thinking big.

The pair of twentysomethings were among about 300 people Thursday at the KI Convention Center in Green Bay who were looking at opportunities, networking connections and exposure for their business ideas as part of Entrepreneur’s Connection.

‘We’re both trying to start businesses in Green Bay,’ Taylor said. ‘I just need to know personally how to run a business.’

Taylor, 25, of Little Suamico said his goal is to open a car lot and expand in the city and regionally and eventually into other parts of the state. Magana wants to run a body shop full time and sees an opportunity working with Taylor.

‘We love working on cars,’ Magana said. ‘Start out small but eventually grow.’

Both say they now operate their businesses as part-time operations, Taylor under the name Elite Auto and Magana as Advanced Coatings. Both would like to make it their full-time business. They’d also like to keep their businesses in Green Bay and bring on additional employees.

This is the third installment of Entrepreneur’s Connection in Green Bay, which was designed to give people looking at starting - or expanding - their businesses the resources and ideas of what to expect. The event features a panel of local business people as well as exhibitors in an attempt to give participants a ‘one-stop shop’ for information and services they will need when starting their own venture.
