District High School students eligible for cash prizes in Secondary School Business Plan Competition.
Sootoday:
High school students across the Algoma District have to opportunity to win cash prizes with their innovative business ideas in the 6th Annual Secondary School Business Plan Competition.
The Business Plan Competition is open to all secondary school students in both the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board and the Algoma District School Board. This competition offers students the opportunity to develop a business idea into a plan and have it judged against their peers in the Algoma region, with the top 3 plans being awarded monetary prizes.
Also, the winner of the competition will have their plan move on to compete in the Northern district, where if successful they would be eligible for the Provincial competition; there are monetary prizes for top finishers at each competition level. The deadline for submissions is May 31st.
For this year we are also running a parallel competition entitled Name That Business Plan Competition. Here we are encouraging students to develop a new name and logo for the competition, with the winning designer receiving an MP3 player courtesy of Algoma Business Computers in Sault Ste. Marie. The deadline for submissions for this contest is April 30th.
To submit entries to the Business Plan Competition or the Name The Business Plan Competition please contact Andrew Ross, Youth Development Coordinator at Enterprise Centre Sault Ste. Marie, (705) 759-2616, or a.ross@ssmedc.ca.
