New Scheme To Help Young Entrepreneurs

A new initiative encouraging young people to become entrepreneurs is to be launched after winning a huge lottery grant.
McSence Workspace Limited was awarded £800,000, which it will use to create the new Midlothian Social Enterprise Centre.

The centre, in the Mayfield area, will promote innovation, opportunity, community regeneration and entrepreneurship.

It will support up to 16 businesses, including at least 2 new social enterprises, and provide employment for 20 to 30 people. Its services are mainly aimed at young people.

Brian Tannerhill, chief executive of the McSence Group, welcomed the grant, which will be added to European Union funding - it has already received to make the project a reality.
