Motorists are gaining increasing access to competitively priced environmentally-friendly car insurance, it has been suggested.
According to a study conducted by moneysupermarket.com, more insurers are providing reasonably priced cover to drivers concerned about their carbon footprint.
Director of insurance Richard Mason said: ‘Many drivers are concerned about their impact on the environment and in an effort to go green have been tempted to opt for eco-friendly insurance.’
Earlier this year, Mr Mason advised that unless firms lower the price of green premiums, drivers should look around for a competitively priced insurance product which most suits their needs and donate any extra savings towards environmentally-friendly causes.
Meanwhile, sales of hybrid cars are set to double in Britain over the course of 2007, according to the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
