Summers can be challenging at my house. My children are 12 and 9 years old, but they still need time and attention, which can make it hard to work from home. While they can keep themselves busy for a few hours, eventually the bickering, whining, and calling ‘MOM!’ starts.
This summer I vowed it would be different. After implementing some new strategies, I have been able to modify my schedule so that I work only two, maybe three hours a day. Not only has this schedule given me more time with the kids, but I have been more productive than when I worked four to six hours a day! You can bet that I’ll keep this schedule when school starts!
Here’s my formula for working 2 hours a day from home:
1. Choose a 2-hour workday friendly job or business
2. Get organized
3. Use systems to automate as much as possible
4. Delegate
5. Manage interruptions
