Spas, Restaurants, Films Picked For Promotion

Three service businesses of Thailand with the highest potential will be promoted in Japan under a full support of the Japan External Trade Organisation (Jetro). The 3 services are spa franchising, Thai food-restaurant franchising, and media content.
The promotion represents co-operation between Jetro and Thailand’s Department of Export Promotion, aiming to strengthen the economic ties between the 2 countries following the recently signed Japan-Thailand Economic Partnership Agreement.
The co-operation will not only lift the income of the Thai service trade sector but also enhance the country’s exports, brand image and confidence in Thai businesses, said Yoichi Kata, the president of Jetro Bangkok.
The collaborative promotion would focus on the franchising of Thai businesses in Japan, particularly spas and Thai-food restaurants, as well as media content, particularly movies, animation, music and documentaries.
‘Jetro has observed the potential of Thai service businesses in the Japanese market and we are confident that the service trade is a system and platform to boost Thai businesses in the world market,’ Mr Kata said at a briefing yesterday.
