Bridging the Gap between Spirit and Business.

By Gene Stewart:
Many people are choosing to leave the corporate world in search of more meaningful and fulfilling work in their lives. Gone is the ‘Bottom Line’ mentality. Corinne McLaughlin says in Spirituality and Ethics in Business, ‘The hottest buzz today is about a ‘triple bottom line,’ a commitment to ‘people, planet, profit.’ The continuous rise in home based businesses; the increase in small business start ups and the changing consciousness of corporations embraces this new paradigm. The ever expanding heart of the entrepreneur is the foundation of this shift and is evidenced in new business practices that honor their best resources – people - those who work with us and for our customers.
Underlying the success of any business is the alignment of core values and beliefs with the products or services offered. Whatever project you choose to undertake, requires boldness, energy and an adventurous spirit. An Entrepreneur is not just associated with business only. I consider the role of ‘Stay at Home Mothers’ to be equally defined by this word. Showing ability to embrace initiative and ingenuity along side managing a household has long been undervalued by our society.
Choosing to follow your heart, listen to your soul, and be the entrepreneur you know you can be, offers a tremendous opportunity for Self Growth. Any area in your own life that you consciously choose to improve (whether spiritual, physical, emotional or mental) will create positive results not only in your personal life, but in the life of your business as well.
