Now that big businesses are entering the organic and natural products realms, consumers are sometimes confused – and suspicious – about which products are truly organic, especially with limited government oversight. The USDA has collected penalties from only 2 companies since its certification program began 5 years ago, leaving some industries to develop their own rules.
