How To Transition From Being An Employee To An Entrepreneur

I find so many people dream of moving from being an employee to an inspired entrepreneur running their own business, but often don’t make that transition successfully because they don’t recognise the stages involved or try to skip them.

Here are the 8 stages I see as being involved:

Stage 1. A new vision for work – getting inspired about the whole idea of work – go to work to contribute and to spread love and joy. The characteristics of the work you were born to do

Stage 2. Discover the work you were born to do – this helps you be clear what your heart lies and what will inspire you

Stage 3. Inspire yourself to the possibility of being an entrepreneur and being your own boss. Self employment becomes the vehicle for you to live the work you were born to do, understanding the differences between ordinary entrepreneurs and business people, and inspired entrepreneurs

Stage 4. Starter inspired entrepreneur – turn your idea into something deliverable product or service to potential clients - cross that threshold and doing it for the first time – ask for money and create your first paying client for the work you were born to do – overcome your resistance to self promotion – demonstrate to yourself it is possible
