The Brampton Guardian:
Starting a business in Brampton just got a little easier thanks to a new feature that allows budding entrepreneurs to apply for permits online.
The Brampton Small Business Enterprise Centre (SBEC), in partnership with all three levels of government, unveiled BizPal, an online permit and licensing services that its creators say saves time and cuts down on paper work.
Members of Brampton’s business community joined local dignitaries in launching the Web site at an event hosted by the Rose Theatre.
‘We are very excited to launch this innovative web tool to our local business community and we are eager to demonstrate the ease of its use and its business benefits,’ said Cassandra Baccardax (photo), SBEC’s senior economic development officer.
With the service, individuals are able to identify which permits and licences are required and get instructions on how to obtain them.
Business owners simply answer a few questions on the type of business they wish to operate and the activities they plan to undertake.
The Web site the automatically generates a list of all the documentation needed from all levels of government.
By accessing these links, entrepreneurs can garner more information on each of the permits and licences they need, and in some cases, apply for them online.
Business owners can access the service by visiting www.brampton.ca/bizpal.
