The cost of third party motor insurance has risen by 10% during the past year as insurers try to improve their profitability, a new report has said.
The average cost of non-comprehensive motor insurance in August was £519, up from £473 in the same month of last year, according to accountancy firm Deloitte.
Comprehensive cover has also increased during the past 12 months, although rises have been lower at 4%, taking average premiums to £458.
