Younger Entrepreneurs Target The Web

Financial Post:
What do small business entrepreneurs want from their technology? According to a survey by Ipsos Reid commissioned by Microsoft Corp., the answer is generational: experienced business owners (those 55 plus) are more concerned their data is secure and safe from prying eyes and computer crashes, while younger business owners (aged 18-34) want newer technology that can expand their businesses and boost their Web presence.

While 57% of Boomers use their e-mail application to keep track of business records, 38% of the younger generation rely on customer-relationship management software to ensure records are safe. And tech-savvy young entrepreneurs were most likely to say they can’t live without BlackBerrys or cellphones, to ensure quick and easy communication that keeps employees connected.
