Herald-Tribune:
Michael Strunk will not climb ladders, untangle strings of lights or struggle with extension cords this year, but his house will still stand out as one of the best decorated in the neighborhood.
For the first time, Strunk has not decorated his home himself. Instead, he is joining a growing number of homeowners willing to pay a substantial sum for someone else to spread the holiday cheer.
‘It’s hard work. I’m pretty busy right now and just finding the time to do it would have just been very difficult,’ said Strunk, an insurance broker who lives in Punta Gorda Isles.
More than ever, people today are willing to pay others to do strenuous and time-consuming chores such as housecleaning, lawn-mowing and even walking the dog. So it makes sense that they would want professionals to decorate their homes for the holidays, said Jim Evans, education director for Christmas Decor, a Texas-based company that has Christmas decorating franchises in all but 2 states.
