Invention Transforms Movie Pair To Business Owners

Ventura County Star:
Simi Valley special effects specialists Enrique Bilsland and Scott Inoue were accustomed to creating something out of nothing.

‘They say: OK, we need a talking pig. You don’t go to the talking pig store,” said Bilsland, who worked on the 2006 production ‘Charlotte’s Web.’

Inoue got to make things explode. ‘On Baywatch,’ I blew up a lot of boats,’ he said.

Now, rather than using their wits to invent movie magic, the 2 are trying to work a little magic to reinvent themselves.

Neither one scrapbooks and neither has ever run a business before, so they decided to open a scrapbooking store in Simi Valley.

Huh?

‘Most of the time I’m destroying things. It was time to create something,’ Inoue said with a grin.

So how did these 2 Simi Valley natives go from talking pigs and exploding boats to rubber stamps and scalloped ribbons?
