Hyper fuel efficiency for cars we’re still working on. Sponsorships are something we’re already expert in. To wit: the newly introduced ‘Progressive Insurance Automotive X Prize.’
That’s the new name for contest formerly known as, simply, the Automotive X Prize, a $10 million competition to inspire development of super fuel-efficient vehicles. The concept is among the efforts spawned by the X Prize Foundation, a nonprofit organization with a mission of creating ‘radical breakthroughs for the benefit of humanity.’ The foundation has previously been behind the Archon X Prize for Genomics and the $30 million Google Lunar X Prize.
